What is therapy & counseling?

Therapy is a service that is provided to aid the client(s) with a variety of issues, including achieving emotional and relationship goals, such as:
  • promoting individual health,
  • increased knowledge and understanding,
  • applicable strategies and skills to improve self-confidence and human interaction,
  • a safe space to share thoughts and feelings,
  • improved management of emotions, and
  • change of behavior.

These goals can be achieved whether in individual, couple, family, group therapy or any combination of the above type of sessions.

A productive and constructive therapy session and professional relationship involves the following from both therapist and client(s):

  • attentive listening,
  • openness,
  • honesty,
  • self-examination,
  • reflection,
  • accountability to practice the skills and lessons learned in and out of session,
  • commitment to be present and actively participate in session,
  • and last but certainly not least, work.
